Tanzanian sensational singer Zuchu who was unveiled in 2020 has revised her performance rate card. She says she now charges Ush65m for shows outside Tanzania. According to record label Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) manager Sallam SK Mendez, the singer has grown and now deserves better pay.
He argued that they used to charge less, but the brand has since grown in vibrancy and demand has increased exponentially, so should the charges. However, they charge less for shows inside Tanzania because it is home.
“Local shows are negotiable, but there is not much difference. This is home and we cannot deny them their artist, so we can negotiate and agree on a fair figure,” he said.
This comes days after her boss, singer Diamond Platnumz, released his new rate card. He is charging sh230m for performances outside Tanzania. He has been on stage here in Uganda a few times; performed at comedian Alex Muhangi’s Comedy Store and his baby mama, socialite Zari Hassan’s All White party.
