Woman allegedly murders mother-in-law over ‘making her marriage difficult’

A woman is on the run after allegedly bludgeoning her mother-in-law to death following a long-standing conflict, in Nakisamba Cell, Kitoda Parish in Bugiri district.

Police preliminary investigations show that the woman only identified as Monica has been having repeated conflicts with her 67-year-old mother-in-law identified as Zaina Nanjala, a resident of Nakisamba cell, Kitoda parish, Bugiri district.

“So, this daughter-in-law was fed up with the conduct of the mother-in-law who was making her marriage life difficult,” police spokesperson Fred Enanga said.

Addressing journalists at the police weekly presser at the police headquarters in Naguru, Kampala on Monday (June 13), the police spokesperson noted that on the evening of June 12, Monica picked a brick, and attacked the old woman, hitting her on the head till she died.

Enanga said after the incident, Monica disappeared from the village and the police are tracking her down.

Woman kills nephew

In a related development, a three-year-old Allan Nyombi was also allegedly strangled to death by his aunt identified as Annet Naluyange in Butikwa Cell, Kiwoko Town Council, Nakaseke district.

Enanga said the parents of Nyombi had left him under the care of Naluyange who had just visited her biological brother, Alex Semambo, who also happened to be the the boy’s father.

“So, when they returned, they found their three-year-old-son had been strangled to death by the aunt. Naluyenge disappeared from the village and the Police are hunting for her,” he added.
