Actor Michael Wawuyo Jnr has partnered with The Artistry 360, a film company, to train the youth in Nsambya, in film acting.
At the home of The Artistry360 in Nsambya-Kirombe, a city suburb, Wawuyo Jnr, the lead actor in Netflix movie The Girl In The Yellow Jumper, taught the young actors how to brand themselves and how to use acting to impact their communities.
Alexon Audax, the proprietor of Artistry360, told The Kampala Sun that Wawuyo Jnr was brought in to help the young actors improve their film skills and to inspire them.
“We had a short story already written and we called Wawuyo Jnr to come and teach them how to approach, break down, understand and execute a script. We also wanted him to inspire them with his life and experience,” said Audax, who is also an actor, writer, and director.

Wawuyo Jnr said of the training held on Sunday, March 20: “I taught them how to better their craft. Ugandan performers are so lazy and that’s why we are not competing globally. I shared the little knowledge and experience that I have so that they learn from it.”
The Artistry360 is an acting programme that gets people with a passion for acting, and kickstarts their acting careers with training, branding and gives them a platform to feature in short movies and scenes.
