Kalangala deputy resident district commissioner Sarah Nanyanzi has warned beach owners over negligence in securing the lives of tourists and people who turn up for merrymaking.
This was after the death of a primary school teacher in a swimming pool as she went out to swim on Easter Monday.
Now, Nanyanzi wants the Police to carry out thorough investigations into the matter, claiming it might tarnish the image of the the tourism industry in the district.
“We want the Police to find out whether there was negligence of the pool attendant that led to death of our teacher,” said Nanyanzi.
This was the only major incident recorded within Kalangala district during the Easter season.
The body of the late Maria Flavia Nakyejwe was transported to Bukulula village in Masaka, where she will be laid to rest at her ancestral grounds today, Wednesday, April 20, at 2:00pm.
