R&B singer/songwriter Tyra Chantey lives in Stockholm, Sweden, but has Ugandan roots.

She is on cloud 9 after she signed with one of Atlanta’s biggest trap rappers turned Def Jam VP/A&R Yung Jeezy’s label.

The rapper is known for hits such as Soul Survivor featuring Akon, Put On featuring Kanye West, has featured on huge hits such as Usher’s Love In This Club and has also appeared in movies like American Gangster and I Got The Hookup.

According to inside sources, Tyra is also in studio with one of the industry’s top writers/artistes, Sean Garrett.

Sean is responsible for massive hits like  Beyoncé’s Ring the Alarm, Get Me Bodied, Upgrade You, Kelly Rowlands Like This, Ricky Martin’s I Don’t Care and tens of more big hit records on radio.

According to her father who doubles as her manager and was part of legendary R&B group Swahili Nation, Jeezy’s manager and business partner Solomon Forney started negotiating with Tyra’s team end of 2021.

“Jeezy’s team flew Tyra and her “producer/writer” and sister Sen Sharell to Atlanta in December 2021 to check her out and see if she’s got what it takes to take the American market.

It was after this meeting that the rapper was convinced and went ahead to put pen to paper.

Tyra has been signed to Epidemic Sounds, a Swedish-based label for the past two years and also partnered with Navio’s Navcorp as a distribution and marketing agent.

Over the past two years, Tyra has pushed the envelope of creativity by mixing Afrobeat influences with her RnB style.

With her first single Sweet Talk, playing on soundtracks like First Kill on Netflix along with her catchy songs Gem and Conman, her music has attracted thousands of fans while raking in almost 1.4 million views on YouTube and 2.5 million streams on Spotify.

She’s now taking the next leap in her career with two new singles that will turn the summer into a total vibe.

The singles Yellow and Transit are a great  representation of Tyra’s ability to mash Afrobeat and R&B.

As for now, the future looks bright for this rising superstar, especially now with the signature of one the hottest rappers in the game.
