Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has been blasted online after he weighed in on singer Sheebah Karungi’s debacle.
Singer Sheebah Karungi recently sent top political wigs into panic mode when she claimed that some big ‘people in government’ tried to rape her ahead of a music performance.
Karungi who claims she was taking a power nap in her car while waiting on her opportunity to go on stage, said that her car doors swung open before this specific person started “acting inappropriately funny” towards her. “Shocked that police are not enthusiastic about instituting investigations in these serious Sheeba Kalungi allegations of rape or indecent assault!” he wrote.
He further continued; “Crimes of that nature are committed not only against the victims but humanity in general and police ought not to wait for a complaint to be formally registered before they commence investigations. They should at least open up a general inquiry file,”
The responses are not what he anticipated. Many implored him to stick to his docket- planning for the city rather than indulge in affairs of musicians.
“Plan for the city. Leave musicians issues to its leaders and ministry of gender. People voted you to change the image of Kampala not an advocate/lawyers for musicians,” a one Fred Asiimwe advised.
Carlos Baguma said “Nonsense. How can police investigate a case that is not reported is it a road accident that they will come to the crime scene and pick some evidence? I however condemn whatever happened
