We have known Roast & Rhyme Nyam Nyam editions for their reggae offerings.
Nyam means eating in Jamaican patois. The relation to Jamaica is what brings us all that reggae.
However, that is to change with the next edition, set for July 1-3 in Jinja.
Going by the several media interviews the organisers have held, this is mainly about travel, brunch and entertaining yourself.
It is no wonder this edition has been simply dubbed Nyam, and not the double Nyam Nyam.
That should explain why the organisers are quiet on the list of performers.
“Now our revellers can take their favourite enjoyments with them on the road,” said Julius Kyazze, Swangz Avenue’s head of business.
It is will feature a bonfire night, live performances and end with a brunch.
Speaking of the event, Matilda Babuleka, Bell Lager’s brand manager, said: “Bell Lager exists to let the good times flow and is the perfect companion as long as you have the right vibe, your crew, some muchomo. This edition of Roast and Rhyme delivers exactly that with the added spice that is a road trip experience to one of Uganda’s most beautiful physical features – the River Nile.”
Something good is perhaps coming out of the COVID-19-related lockdown.
These folks are getting us a better and larger picnic event to convince us to dig into our wallets.
