A hiatus of 6 years of no promotion is indeed a long wait coming for Police officers. It is as well they made the most of their recent promotions.
Skys Hotel Naguru was the host for Jinja Road Police station (KMP) East Dinner on Friday 13th August as officers celebrated their victory to promotion.
The colourful evening started off with the Pippingceremony of Officers who were promoted at Jinja Road Police (KMP) East at different ranks.

Spouses of the promoted officers were tasked to accompany the senior officers in the peeping ceremony.
Nakawa Divison Resident City Commissioner Sheikh Kasim Kamugisha who also graced the occasion applauded the good work done by police officers in keeping law and order, and also for having a good reputation in the community

Assistant commissioner of Police Ben Mubangizi, congratulated the newly promoted officers on their achievement and hard work.
“The work of the police is not for one person, it’s for a combined effort between officers, community, and spouses
Mubangizi went ahead to also thank president Yoweri Museveni for promoting officers because there were no promotions at senior levels.

“We joined the force at different levels and days, so even promotions almost happen in the same manner, so for the officer who was not promoted, don’t lose hope maybe tomorrow it will be you, just continue working hard” he advised.
He cautioned that promotion comes with alot of work and so the officers should not rest on their laurels.

The Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces on Thursday 11th August promoted and appointed on promotion 773 gazetted police officers to the ranks of AIGP, Senior Commissioner of Police, Commissioner of Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Senior Superintendent of Police, and Assistant Superintendent of Police.
