Singer Alien skin on Monday, June 5, confirmed that he will hold a concert at Freedom City, Namasuba on Entebbe Road on June 9, 2023.

The concert falls on the same date as Pallaso’s Love Fest concert, which will be taking place at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Kampala.

At a press conference held at his home in Makindye Kizungu in Kampala, Alien Skin, real name Patrick Mulwana, urged his fans to turn up in large numbers to support him.

However, the Police, through Kampala metropolitan spokesperson Patrick Onyango, have denied any knowledge of Alien’s concert.

“We have no idea about Alien Skin’s concert,“ he said.

Following the 2023 New Year’s tragedy at Freedom City concert, where 11 people died in a stampede, the Police issued new guidelines for securing concerts, mass gathering and performances, among others.

While addressing journalists at the police’s weekly briefing at the police headquarters, in Naguru, a Kampala suburb, on Monday, January 16, police spokesperson Fred Enanga said the guidelines take immediate effect.

In the new guidelines, all organisers and promoters must write to the Inspector General of Police indicating where the concerts will be, the number of attendees expected for better planning, and also avail to the IGP the measures they are putting in place for controlling crowds with clear and elaborate access control measures, including (hand probes, walk through machines, K9 and scanners).

A video emerged online last week of an angry Pallaso attacking Alien Skin for interrupting rehearsals of his Love Fest concert set for this month. It remains to be seen whether or not Alien is serious about his June 9 concert.
