Joel Francis Emuna has revealed that his late brother, Speaker Jacob Oulanyah and ex-wife Lady Winnie Amoo spoke before he died.
The two got married at All Saints Cathedral in 2013 after the death of Oulanyah’s first wife, Dorothy Nangwale, in 2009.
Winnie and Oulanyah had two children, both girls, before divorcing in 2016.
Winnie went on to marry an American man in 2021.
“They (Oulanyah and Winnie) spoke a few weeks before he died,” Emuna said.
He was addressing mourners during Oulanyah’s funeral service in Ajuri village, Lalogi sub-county, Omoro district, where the former Speaker is slated to be buried later today, April 8.
“Jacob left no woman on earth. This you must know. There is no woman Jacob came and introduced to our family,” Emuna said, emphasising that it was only Amoo and Nangwale who they knew.
He added: “Jacob left us with the children only.”
Emuna further relayed Winnie’s regret over not coming to attend the burial of her former husband.
“Lady Winnie called me yesterday (April 7) and said she would not be able to come (for the funeral) neither would the children.”
However, according to Emuna, Winnie said she would come along with the children at an appropriate time to pay their respects to the departed Speaker.
