Nigeria Afrobeat singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka aka Ruger’s concert is on again.

The Police this afternoon said the concert, dubbed Tuli Waweru, has been given a green light.

Yesterday, the Police dismissed the early bird revellers at Dungu Resort Munyonyo after they failed to agree with the organisers.

“A concert that was slated for yesterday at Dungu Resort has been cleared to go on for today 13th February 2022 after the organisers met the safety and security guidelines issued to them by the Uganda Police Force,” Police deputy publicist Kampala Metropolitan Luke Owoyesigyire said in a press release this afternoon.

Even after the cancellation on Saturday, Ruger, whose hit Dior has become an anthem, remained optimistic that the show would go on.

“Uganda, I am still here and the security team is working hard to make the venue very safe so we can have a fantastic show tomorrow (Sunday). So sorry for the inconvenience, but our lives matter first. See you all on Sunday. I love you all so much,” the 22-year-old sensation tweeted.

The fans have responded by expressing support and praise about him keeping calm amidst the disappointment.

The clearance from Police brings relief to hundreds of anxious fans, especially those that had already bought online tickets. Ruger will headline the first show featuring an international artiste in nearly two years after a COVID-19 lockdown disrupted the show business.

High flying new artiste Azawi is lined up to perform among other trending Ugandan singers.
