The finest in Uganda’s film industry arrived in style at the inaugural New Vision Film Awards. The winners of the awards waltzed in at the Vision Group offices in Industrial Area from 4:00 Pm and were treated to a red carpet.
Famed actors and film producers like Matthew and Eleanor Nabwiso opted for a simple laid-back look while others, especially the ushers went for a chic look.
The awards are aimed at recognizing, appreciating, and celebrating the great names in the Ugandan Film Industry.
During the event, the winners will be handed their certificates of appreciation and a discussion about the Ugandan Film industry. The event will be aired live on Urban TV.
The Head of The Lifestyle and Entertainment Hub, Moses Serugo, told The Kampala Sun that the awards were not a one-time thing but would be held annually to appreciate Ugandan Filmmakers.
“It will be annual and there’s a TV movie show in the works,” he said.
He added that there is a possible acquisition of all the nominated movies for Vision Group to air.
The list of winners of the New Vision Film Awards was released last Friday June 17 in The New Vision.
