NCBA bank hosts 1st regional amateur golf series tournament

The par 72 Uganda Golf Club will this Saturday play host to the 10th leg of the ongoing 2022 NCBS Golf Series.

Over 150 golfers have been drawn to tee off at the 18-hole course where they will be aiming to book their spots and play the grand finale at the prestigious Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi in December.

Speaking ahead of the NCBA Golf series, Kampala tournament, the NCBA Bank Uganda MD, Mark Muyobo said the tournament is a great platform for amateur golfers.

“This league of the NCBA Golf Series at the Uganda Golf Club offers a great platform for amateur golfers to compete and improve their skills,” Mark Muyobo said.

The event follows the 2022 NCBA Junior tournament which was held at Serena Golf Course Kigo during the Easter weekend.  Close to 100 junior golfers representing seven nationalities represented.   The top junior golfer qualified to play at the Rome Classic Junior event in Italy.

Emmanuel Wamala the captain Uganda Golf Club revealed that golfers at the NCBA series will be playing for a hole in one where they have a chance to win a car in partnership with CFAO motors as well as qualifying to play at the prestigious Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi.  

“There have been very many close calls for the hole-in-one but we are hoping someone pulls it off this weekend,” he said.
