Natasha Museveni Karugire, the esteemed director and writer, renowned for her previous blockbuster 27 Guns in 2017, is set to captivate audiences once again.

This time, she has unveiled her ambitious project — a series of thought-provoking documentaries dubbed Those From Among You that will delve into Uganda’s rich history, intertwining it with the monumental contributions of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

In a tweet, the filmmaker revealed that the cinematic masterpiece intends to chronicle the profound narrative of Uganda while shedding light on the instrumental role played by her father, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in propelling the nation’s development forward.

“#Thosefromamongyou is a docu-series, coming out soon, that chronicles Uganda’s history and the NRM’s part in it, led by Yoweri Museveni. Can’t wait to share!” she tweeted.

Natasha’s previous creation, 27 Guns, was met with immense anticipation upon its release, widely regarded as a potential contender for representation at The Oscars.

Unfortunately, unforeseen obstacles prevented the film from making its mark on the illustrious awards stage, leaving the country’s debut feature bereft of this prestigious recognition.

27 Guns stands as a compelling biopic, meticulously crafted to portray the true events of Uganda’s liberation struggle. The narrative revolves around a young protagonist and his remarkable cohort of idealistic youth, who valiantly abandon their personal pursuits to embark on a quest to save their nation. Armed with little more than discipline and unwavering courage, they rally behind the indomitable spirit of an oppressed populace, ultimately igniting a guerrilla war.
