Reports coming in indicate that Masaka city-based Elsie Hotel, owned by legislator Mukasa Mbidde, is being sold.
In an advert that appeared in local newspapers, Cranimer Associates indicated that Elsie Hotel is being sold because the owner has failed to pay a debt, which he took after using the hotel land titles as security for the bank loan.
The auctioneers have given hotel occupants 14 days to vacate and the owner 30 days to pay or lose the property to the highest bidder.
Elsie Hotel is located in Masaka City – Nalubale street, plot 12-14, measuring 0.122 hectares.
The hotel was launched in October 2021. Mbidde named the hotel after his daughter, Elsie whose mother was the Late Bukomansimbi Woman MP Susan Namaganda, who died in a Masaka road car crash in 2015.
Mbidde recently boasted of having had a sh2 billion wedding with his new wife, Phiona Nayebale.
The ceremony took place at Uganda Martyrs Basilica, Munyonyo on Friday, April 28, 2023.
