Engineer Ronald Kibuuka, who had been reported missing on Monday, April 18, resurfaced on Thursday night, April 21 and informed family members he had been kidnapped.

He returned home at around 9:00pm on Thursday evening.

Dr John Kimbe, one of those who had been key in the search for Kibuuka, on Thursday night said: “Thank you all for your prayers. Engineer Kibuuka has just driven back home. Emotions are too high to ask questions which are too many. For now, we thank God he is alive.”

Yesterday evening, a family source said Kibuuka attributed his release to a New Vision story that was published on Thursday.

“We haven’t talked much. But, he’s told me the New Vision article saved his life. His captors saw the paper and came to him and said, ‘Is this you in the New Vision? You must be an important person’,” a family member revealed.

Details about his alleged kidnap remained scanty even as the Police said they would question him.

Last night, Kibuuka was rushed to the hospital for medical check-up after he complained of body pain.

Kibuuka went missing on Easter Monday after he reportedly left Kampala to go to Mukono to inspect properties he was constructing.

His car, a green Ranger Rover, was last tracked by the Police in Seeta and went missing from Police surveillance cameras after.

On Wednesday night, Kibuuka spoke to family members for less than a minute and claimed he had gone for prayers.
