The reigning Miss Uganda Hannah Karema Tumukunde is on cloud nine after having a road named after her in honor of her accomplishment.
The model and , social media influencer, who was born and raised in Nakaseke district, defied odds to emerge Miss Uganda 2023/ 2024 in March. A few months later, she has a road named after her.
The Kampala Sun has learnt that officials of Kinoni Village in Nakaseke agreed to have a road named after the current miss Uganda Tumukunde as a way of thanking her for having made their village proud when she was crowned.
While addressing the media on Monday at the National Theatre Karema said she was overjoyed when she visited her parents to find out that people within the village had agreed to give her that incredible gift.
“I am extremely happy that I was honored in such a way because its not usual that one gets such a recognition but I also ask the government to think more about us by providing tarmacked roads since most in the district are marram.” Said Karema.
During the visit she also embarked on teaching girls about menstrual hygiene.
