The Miss Tourism organisers have launched the 2022 edition under the theme, Rethinking Tourism.
The launch, attended by several dignitaries from the Uganda Tourism Board, took place at the Uganda Museum on May 6.
The current Miss Tourism is Susan Kahunde.
The assistant commissioner of Miss Tourism, Vivian Lyazi, called upon young, vibrant and energetic ladies to apply for the 2022 edition of the contest.

She added that the 2022 edition will be a special one as they will be celebrating 10 years in the pageant industry.
The Miss Tourism will also involve other countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
Under the theme Rethinking Tourism, Lyazi said they are looking at several ways of promoting tourism through culture since previous campaigns have focused on wildlife conservation.
“The public hasn’t yet embraced cultural tourism, which has hindered the promotion of several cultures,” she noted.
“We want people to know the good things we have in different cultures. We want to sell our cultures so that people get to know them.”
