Pauline Asako, 18, has beaten five others to be crowned Miss Kumam 2022/2023 at an event that took place at Kaberamaido Hotel in Kaberamaido district.
The beauty pageant, which was held on December 23, was the first as most girls would contest under Teso.

After being crowned, Asako said she will promote Kumam culture and fight against teenage pregnancy, early marriages and encourage girls to stay in school.
First runner-up Mercyline Recho Agono was crowned Miss Popular Kumam, while Jesca Aswao was the second runner-up. Barbara Awati was crowned Face of Kaberamaido, while Gorrety Adeke is the Face of Kalaki.
