Actress Evelyn Namulondo has dismissed rumours suggesting that singer Mesach Semakula is the biological father of her son.
Namulondo, who rose to fame through her work with the Ebonies theatre group, clarified that although there have been claims that the Sigwe Ansiimira hitmaker fathered her child, he did not.
However, she did mention that the biological father of her son belongs to the same clan as Semakula, which may have led to the confusion.
“My son’s father is also from the ‘Olugave’ clan,” the actress clarified.
During his Mesach At 46 Concert, which took place on May 19, 2023, at the Kampala Serena Hotel, the singer publicly acknowledged all of his children, including Evelyn Namulondo’s son. This act sparked speculation that he might be the father.
Regarding the fatherhood of Namulondo’s child, Mesach stated that he merely plays a paternal role in the child’s life because he is a close friend of one of his own children. He explained that as a responsible man, he has always welcomed many children and treats them as his own.
With the recent focus on DNA testing in the country, many people are suggesting that several artistes should undergo such tests. Just a few days ago, it was confirmed that artist Prince Omar is the father of singer Grace Khan after years of speculation.
