Actress Mariam Ndagire has called upon the youth to consider theatre.

In an interview, the veteran singer explained that besides comedy and outdoor shows, plays in the theatre can also relieve stress and bring happiness.

“The youth and the women have not yet embraced theatre. We need to encourage them to consider theatre as an enjoyment place too,” Ndagire said.

She also appealed to the youth who are into acting in theatres to work harder to earn from it just like they did.

“In the past, we used to make much money and when you people (the youth) realised it, you came through thinking that you would also make it. However, things have changed and now you are losing hope. I request you to hold on, work harder to capture the audience because I believe there are many people who still want to invest in theatre,” Ndagire said.

Besides being an actress, Ndagire is a singer, entertainer playwright, film director, and producer.

As a singer, she is best known for her songs Majangwa, Kiki Onvuma, Ansisitira, Bakikakase, Abakazi Twalaba, Mama, and several more.
