Kenyan Member of Parliament, Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has gone back to school to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a pilot.
The Lang’ata lawmaker revealed that he has enrolled in a flying school at Wilson Airport and is taking piloting classes to obtain his private pilot license.
Jalang’o expressed his hope that one day soon, his voice would be heard in control towers asking for permission to land a plane. However, he had kept this information under wraps to avoid criticism from those who might allege that he had used public funds to finance his education.
“I am also in class, but I have never shared photos because people will start claiming that I am using public money which is not true. I just need a private pilot license. One day you will see a plane approaching the airport and it will be my voice asking the control towers for permission to land,” Jalang’o said.
The legislator has risen from humble beginnings to become one of Kenya’s most successful media personalities, with his last stint at Kiss 100FM where he hosted the morning drive show alongside Kamene Goro.
Despite his busy schedule as a Member of Parliament, Jalang’o has found time to pursue his passion for flying. He hopes that his decision to go back to school will inspire others to chase their dreams, no matter their age or background.
In Uganda, some celebrities also took the same part to chase own dreams. Some of these are; Geoffrey Lutaaya, Ronald Mayinja, Catherine Kusaasira, Khalifah Aganaga, and several others.
