In 2000, Necessary Noize, a Kenyan group made up of singers Nazizi Hirji and Kevin Wyre aka the Love Child, fired up East Africa with hits such as Nataka Toa, Siku Nikifa, and Juu.
The two became so popular in Uganda that in 2005, they collaborated with Bebe Cool to form a group called the East African Reggae Bashment Crew and released songs like Fire Anthem, Africa Unite, and Kube.
Well, it’s been over a decade since Necessary Noize went silent and each of the members pursued solo careers.
A wave of nostalgia may sweep their fans, for the duo has reunited in a new song dubbed Reality.
The two are set to release an Extended Play (EP) this year.
Talking to journalists, Nazizi and Wyre revealed that they had been trying to reunite for long.
“This has been a long time coming. We’ve talked about getting back to do this for quite some time, and I am excited about this phase,” Nazizi said.
