The search for Miss Tourism Uganda started off early this year, and as has been the norm, the exercise kicked off with a search for regional queens.
On Saturday, August 27, therefore, at Nyaika Hotel, Fort Portal, the grand finale for Miss Tourism Toro region was held.
The race saw Kasfah Kahunde Adyeeri crowned as Miss Tourism Toro, with Sylvia Kasemire Collins and Diana Musiimenta being first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
The winner was crowned by Joan Kantu, the Minister of Tourism in the Toro Kingdom, who lauded all three finalists for taking up the mantle to represent and showcase Toro’s beauty and cultural heritage.

With this year’s theme being Rethinking Tourism, the finalists were also advised to advocate for the protection of the diminishing glaciers in Fort Portal.
All three finalists, as is the case in the other regions, will go ahead to represent their regions at the national level, on September 23, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
Speaking about other regions, as Toro was crowing it’s queen, the eastern region was also doing the same, in Mbale.

Meanwhile, other regions like West Nile, Teso, Bunyoro, Ankole, Busoga and Karamoja already went through the process, and are now eagerly awaiting the national race.
As always, university students have been heavily involved in this year’s race, something that makes the contests vibrant.
