Walkers from different parts of Uganda thronged Agip Motel as the Johnnie Walker Tour hit the city on Saturday. Draped in yellow and gold, the Agip motel was host to the first up-country edition of the tour over the weekend.
Kicking off the night with a showcase of some of Mbarara’s finest talents who included Mat Henry, Vamos 256 and Truth 256 performing their new releases with MC Kacheche, the crowds were warmed up to what was about to happen next.

It was one of those unusual nights in Mbarara but the young talents killed it before the son of the land Ray G stepped on stage taking off the roof of Agip Motel.
He began by performing a crowd favorite, ‘Iteeka’ and you could tell that he was truly part of the town and the people. The highlight of his performance though was “Omushehe”, the smash hit he did with Spice Diana.

Agip was turned upside down when DJ Slick Stuart stepped on stage and onto the discs. The celebrated DJ, who is also a Walker, left no genre untouched playing RnB, Reggae, Amapiano, Ugandan Kidandali not to mention Congolese beats that got waists in motion.
At about 11:00pm The National Walker, Navio, held his own performing Ngalo, Nawulira and crowd favourite Njogereza which got the Mbarara crowd going wild.

As the revellers thought the party was over, Dancehall star Karole Kasita hit the stage, leading Mbarara into another exciting moment. Her gyrations left many swooning.

For people weaned on milk and rigid in their tastes and preferences, a lot has changed about revellers in the city. They sipped on Johnnie Walker cocktails with the relish of experts.
