Veteran gospel artiste George Lubega popularly known as Exodus broke down and cried during Pastor Bugembe’s concert last weekend.
The Igwe singer, 37 confessed how overcoming alcohol abuse had become hard for him. He detailed the pain, anger and frustration he had endured with alcoholism and swore he wouldn’t relapse again.
Whereas many thought it was a stunt to get him the limelight, he expounded on the subject during a TV interview on Friday morning. It came to the fore that he has been battling depression and turned to alcohol to numb the pain.
“Coming out to apologize came after I overcame depression. I once got to a point where I desired to end my life because of what people were talking about me,” Exodus narrated.
He further revealed: “When I joined Miracle Center, I faced so many challenges the devil used people to be against me. Members of the mass choir were so against me and couldn’t allow me to step on stage,” said Exodus.
He further explained that even though he faced some challenges after becoming a born-again Christian he couldn’t deny the fact that the church paved a way for him.
