Shine Omukiga (real name Shine Nyonyozi Angella), a popular singer and radio presenter in western Uganda, has told of the untold suffering she went through in the pursuit of a child.
Speaking in a TV interview on September 19, she narrated that she suffered so many miscarriages that she stopped counting them.
“The ones that I counted were 19. For the rest, I could just see blood spots oozing out. Since I had had many, doctors even gave up on me,” Shine narrated.

She recalls an incident when she almost suffered a miscarriage while she was performing on stage.
“One time, I was on stage dancing, and I felt like the baby was leaving my womb,” Shine said.
After all those miscarriages, Shine finally gave birth to a baby boy in 2022.
“I quit my job at the radio station after delivery. I am now focused on motherhood and that’s my full-time job,” Shine said.
The singer is the sister of comedienne Ann Kansiime and is known for her songs such as Omukundwa, Ngambira, and Omudarasini.
