Singer Gravity Omutujju (Gereson Wabuyi) has credited himself for playing a pivotal role in reigniting the music career of musician-turned-politician Bobi Wine, also known as Robert Kyagulanyi.
During an interview, he asserted that Bobi Wine had been consumed by politics, leaving no room for his music. However, he said his remarks served as a wake-up call, prompting Bobi Wine to create and release several songs.
Gravity claimed to have rejuvenated Bobi Wine’s music trajectory by urging him to retire from music and focus on other business ventures.
“I played a role in awakening Bobi Wine from his slumber, leading to the release of songs like Labisa although it did not withstand the test of time amidst our hit songs,” he said.
This year, Bobi Wine has already unveiled two songs – Labisa and Nalumansi – and has promised to release more before the year concludes. It had been years since he last released music. In 2018, he was stopped from holding concerts.
At the beginning of this year, Gravity Omutujju encouraged the big three (Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool and Chameleone) to step aside and make way for young talent in the music scene, allowing them to concentrate on their personal endeavours.
