Former Rubaga South Member of Parliament (MP) Kato Lubwama has passed away.
Initial reports indicate that Lubwama succumbed to heart complications early Wednesday morning, June 7, at Stana Medical Centre in Bunamwaya, Wakiso district.
The news of Lubwama’s passing was shared by events promoter Andrew Mukasa alias Bajjo, in a video on social media.
Lubwama’s Twitter account posted a tweet that read “Sad news” to confirm his death in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
At the time of his passing, Lubwama alongside fellow performers Charles James Senkubuge and Philip Luswata were preparing to perform a play called Cease Fire in July about the current state of the country.
Lubwama rose to fame as part of the Diamonds Ensemble group that he co-founded.
He became a staple of Ugandan morning radio on the Kalisoliso show on CBS FM.
