The meeting was meant to be a calm one, until it got uncomfortable for Eddie Yawe when his siblings squeezed his vocal chords. Yawe found himself in the hot seat during a recent family meeting when his brothers and sisters asked him to answer to various allegations regarding song theft and copyright infringement.

Martha Mukisa, Carol Nantongo and a little known Sumaya Sheebah have on different occasions claimed that Eddie Yawe stole their songs, or parts of the songs. At worst, one of them alleged sexual harassment.

“We do not believe that the allegations are true. Those female artistes are trying to create a name for themselves by tagging Eddie Yawe to the claims,” said Dax Vibez, the youngest in the family.

He was however fast to add that the family was still investigating the claims. “If we find out that the allegations are true, we shall again sit down as a family and decide on the way forward,” he said.
