With just four days to the finals of the Canada’s Got talent finale on May 17, Uganda’s singing siblings Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira will be left to mull over what would have been.
The East Africa Got Talent (EAGT) 2019 winners failed to make it to the finals of Canada’s Got Talent singing competitions even after impressing at the semi-finals. Their fate was in the hands of voters who never did enough.
Their mother Julie Birungi revealed the heart-breaking news to their fans on social media. “Thank you for the support and prayers. We didn’t make it to the finals but we glad we made it to where we at.”
Many Ugandan celebrities like Judith Heard were quick to salute the teenage singing duo. “Your future is bright enjoy every moment,” she wrote.
During the semifinal stage, the siblings performed Calum Scott’s ‘You Are the Reason’. The song, a tribute to their mother, left the judges emotional when Julie’s face was flashed on the screen.
Canadians, Stacey Kay, Savio Joseph, Kellie Loder, Shadow Entertainment, and Courtney Gilmour will contest in the final.
The two-hour live finale show will happen next week on 17th May 2022 on CityTV.com.
