Embrace domestic tourism, Miss Uganda urges

Elizabeth Bagaaya, the Miss Uganda 2020/21 has urged residents of Masindi to take advantage of domestic tourism the area.

Bagaaya who took her mother and other friends to the park was mesmerized by the fauna and flora and made the rallying call.

  “Murchison Falls National Park is here in Masindi but it’s sad to see only foreigners embracing it. It’s good to take advantage of our own to understand nature,” Bagaaya said while touring Murchison falls National Park on Sunday.

   She added that the residents of Bunyoro should be proud of the biggest tourist attractions like the Parks, the falls, lake Albert among other things

 “I want to thank the government because it has made it possible for the people to access the park,” she said.

Rita Katungi, the Masindi district tourism officer, revealed that the tourism potential was so big and she owed to curated tourism campaigns they initiated at the district.  

“I came out with an idea of domestic tourism promotion initiative mainly to promote domestic tourism sites in the district to help people appreciate the tourism products,” she said.
