Musician Pallaso has warned award organisers against nominating him if the award does not come with money.
The excited Pallaso made the remarks at the MTN CallerTunez Awards grand finale at the Kampala Serena Hotel on March 30 as he received his accolade for Malamu song in the Afrobeat/Afropop category. It came with a cash prize of sh2.5m.
The grand finale follows a six-month period in which MTN awarded artistes with the most ring back tune downloads on a monthly basis, including lucky customers who were using the service.
Pallaso, real name Pius Mayanja, also bagged a second award after beating other male artistes to get named the Best Male Artiste by the 25,672 people who voted for him.
He walked away with an additional sh3m, making it a total of sh5.5m.
No wonder the singer has grown wings and no longer wants awards, which only come with saliva.
