The first edition of the Kampala Fashion Carnival took place at Wild Coffee Bar in Industrial Area in Kampala on July 2. It was organised by Doreen Kabareebe, a model who has an affinity for barely-there outfits.

The theme was Celebration of Love.
LIoyd, the organiser, explained that the main aim of the event was to push African fashion to the next level.
“We have many good designers in Uganda, but their products lack market. We want them to be marketed and get due recognition,” he said.
The event started at 6:00pm, with designers like Ras Kasozi and Jose House of Creation showcasing their works on the runway.
