UK based Ugandan born blogger Rita Kaggwa was briefly detained at Central Police Station ( CPS) on Saturday over yet unclear circumstances.

The vocal blogger, her Nigerian husband, and children were accosted by policemen who led them to police for questioning

The couple jetted into the country last week during which Rita formally introduced her man to her parents in a traditional ceremony.

On Saturday afternoon, word of Rita Kaggwa’s arrest spread on social media with the blogger’s nemesis, Shanita Namuyimbwa ( Bad Black) celebrating the news.

However, the blogger later took to snapchat to clarity. Kaggwa claimed she had no idea why she had been put behind bars. She also revealed that the British High commission in Uganda had been helpful as her arrest was a case of mistaken identity.

” We are here at police. I am extremely safe. The British High commission has checked in and cleared me. I cant say we were arrested. We were just besieged and taken for questioning,” she said on snapchat.

The police were tightlipped on why Kaggwa was taken in for questioning .
