She was dressed in a body hugging pink romper but that is not the only thing revellers noticed when Nigerian singer Ayra Starr performed at the Blankets & Wine fest held at Lugogo Cricket Oval on Sunday.

She milled with the crowd and struck a particular chord- One which would later define her engaging performance. She asked the fans who could sing along to her recent song Afro soul song Ase – and indeed one of her fans stepped up and killed it. Just when you thought Ugandans were only weaned on Kizz Daniel’s Buga song, their favorite pastime is listening and mastering songs from different Nigerian stars.
For those who were wondering who she was when she jetted in got a whiff of her Star. She had the energy, the voice, and the vibe, which made her a worthy headline for the 27th Edition of Blankets and wine.

Besides Ayra Starr, the South African duo – Blaq Diamond – who came on stage following a surprise fireworks display, entertained the crowd with hits like Ibhanoyi and Summer yo Muthi.
